Drenched Skin
Skin I can’t live without…
I didn’t grow up having picky skin. It was relatively easy and fuss free. However, as I had gotten older and developed an allergy to gluten. My skin went haywire and threw me a curve ball. I had developed rashes that resemble psoriasis/ eczema. As well as more hormonal zits. Luckily the eczema type rashes hasn’t affected my face too much but the zits have. Eczema does effect my neck mainly which is a crucial part of facial skincare as well. I naturally have dry skin but leans toward normal/ combination on my T-zone. With all that I found that I gravitate toward products that are moisturizing and easy on sensitive skin.
I usually start off with Clinique cleanse the day off balm, it melts off makeup (especially waterproof mascara) and doesn’t leave your skin feeling overly oily. I then use a foam cleanser to get any excess dirt off my face. The one I’ve been loving is the Andalou Natural 1000 roses cleansing foam. Sometimes when I’m extremely lazy I use a SUISAI face wash which is almost a 2 in 1 melting my makeup and cleansing my skin.
Adding back in the moisture, I tend to start off with my Innisfree lava seawater face spray. Then using a base lotion from Etude House which is the SOON JUNG Cica balm lotion. This lotion is great with problematic skin and definitely helps my neck as well (outbreaks of my allergy/ eczema). I usually top that lotion with the Dr. Jart Cicapear serum, rubbing it all over my face and neck.
When I’m feeling particularly dry I will then top up with a thick cream sometimes i’ll go with a Weleda Skin Food Ultra-Rich Cream or Gerlavit Moor cream. They are definitely very thick and need lots of warming up between the fingers before applying onto the face.
